How to buy golf clubs that fit your game.

DRIVER FITTING GUARANTANEE

I will GUARANTEE at least a 15 yard increase in your driver distance. This will come from one of three areas:
1) A correctly fitted driver
2) Making a better swing
3) Increasing your flexibility and/or strength

If all these areas are addressed correctly you will increase your driver distance by  AT LEAST 15 yards. A player must be willing to commit to a lesson plan and or a TPI golf fitness program if the distance increase is not gained from simply the driver fitting.
Our history of fittings over the last 5 years has been to get about 20-25 yards more distance for most of our students. And, occasionally we get as much as 50 yards!!

Call the shop at 405-842-2626 with questions or click here if you want us to contact you about scheduling a fitting session.

Fitting fees are $150 and are FREE with a purchase.
It’s your shot, what are you going to do!

FACT #1 - Golf clubs that are fitted to you cost no more than standard, off the rack clubs.

FACT#2 - 95% of all golfers need custom specifications in one of the areas listed below.

FACT #3 - Custom fitting of golf clubs cannot be done hitting into a net.

FACT #4 - Custom clubs usually take only about two weeks to arrive.

Following are the steps involved in a custom fitting process.

Step #1 - Oral interview. This would provide information about your shot tendencies, practice habits and your goals for your golf game. You would also want the instructor to know what your worst shot shapes are.

Step #2 - Fitting for the correct length of your irons. If you are playing with the incorrect length you will have more off center hits resulting in a significant loss of distance. Test results have proven that when hitting a six iron a 1" off center hit costs you about an 8% loss of distance.(For more info click on the link at the bottom of this page)

Step #3 - Fitting for the correct lie angle. Playing with the incorrect lie angle will cause tremendous direction control problems. Test results have shown us that for each 2 degrees of incorrect lie angle the ball will be 20 feet off line! This will force you to compensate some way with your swing.

Step #4 - Fitting for shafts. This dependent on three things. The first two can be measured. One is club head speed. The faster you swing a club the heavier and firmer shaft you might nee. The other factor to be measured is how much you load the shaft. This is the amount of flex you create in the shaft after you start your downswing. The third factor cannot be measured. That is how the shaft feels to the player. Some of this dependent on observing the ball flight and some is just based on how the shaft feels in the players hands. (For more info click on the link at the bottom of this page)

Step #5 - Grip size and material. Grip size can be measured, but it also dependent on player feedback as to which size feels the best. The material is based strictly on the players preferecnce - rubber, cord, ½ cord... there is only about 100 different choices.

Step # 6 - Set make up. This has gotten to be a huge part of the fitting process. This would include what irons you need in your set. Most players have trouble hitting long irons. You would have a choice to get your set without a 2, 3 or 4 iron for instance. Get your set of irons with only a 5 through a SW. And, then fill in with some higher lofted fairway metals. Unlimited number of options here, whatever fits your game the best.

Step #7 - Wedge fitting. This is the most complicated part of the fitting process. Fitting of wedges would include how much bounce you have on the sole of your sand and lob wedge. Generally you would want more bounce on your sand wedge in order to play from sand bunkers. How you hit your wedges from the fairway would also be a factor in the bounce. You would also need to make sure you have the right amount of loft differences in all of your wedges.(For more info click on the Short Game link on the front page)

Step #8 - Driver fitting. There has never been a time when fitting your driver was more important. Drivers are vastly different depending on the manufacturer. Fitting for length is important as it is for irons. The incorrect length will cause off center hits which will result in a huge loss of distance. You would also e the correct launch angle.

The correct launch angle can gain you as much as 30-40 yards of distance. Different drivers launch the ball at different angles. What you fit for in one driver may not be the same as it is for another. Outdoor ball flight is mandatory for driver fitting. ( For more info click on the link at the bottom of this page)
